View Full Version : Insoles - best one for tennis shoes?

I've tried super feet, soles, and a variety of retail insoles and because i have really high arches, I haven't found anything good. I was wondering if it's worth it to spend 100's of dollars on getting custom insoles? I notice that Raonic, Djokovic, and a lot of pros use insoles. I am not anywhere near at that level, but just playing an hour of tennis and the next day, my feet are just killing me. Any advice on insoles would greatly be appreciated!

Personally I have liked Sole brand insoles (http://www.yoursole.com/). I have used them to "fix" a couple different shoes I have owned.

Try the Sof Sol FIT. They have one available for high arches. The neutral arch version is the one I use, and it's my favorite because it's lightweight and provides plenty of support. It's not one of those mushy cushioned insoles. I prefer an insole that gives support.

A lot of times I think people go with the wrong size/color with Superfeet. I was recommended the Green by a podiatrist when I was having foot issues, tried them, were a little TOO cumbersome even though I have an enormously high arch, then later tried the blue and they were fantastic. Solid support without going overboard. Just my experience. All other insoles have failed badly for me.

Personally I am a fan of Superfeet Orange (basically Superfeet Greens but with a little padding across the forefoot).
I don't have experience with the Dr. Scholl's custom fit orthotic inserts, but Systemic Anomaly has posted that he thinks these are great for tennis.
They are sold in little kiosks in many pharmacies, and even Walm*rt.
You stand on a pressure sensor that measures your feet and withing seconds receommends which of the multiple insoles would be best for you. I think they run around $45 - not cheap, but way less than custom insoles from a podiatrist. The Dr. Scholl's site has more info, and a $10 rebate available: http://www.footmapping.com/footmapping/home/index.jspa
(It may turn out that you could be someone who eventually will need that podiatry visit however for real custom inserts.)

Powerfeet are pretty amazing for high arches. I have them in almost all my shoes these days.
