That drop shot is ridiculous...The slice that set it up was also nasty.
If he could only play this loose against Nadal. Sigh.

Looks like he got sick of playing Defense so he set up a bail out shot.

That's what I call an aggressive drop shot. Not much you can do about that particular shot.

That's too good. Noticed he hit about 4 reverse finish forehands in that rally as well(including the 1 on the run). What gives? New tactic?

It's amazing how Fed realizes the awesomeness of the drop shot and simply stops moving...
It reminds me of a dropshot against murray in the WTF a couple of years ago when he also just stopped moving...
Also, how arrogant of Federer.

Terrible habit because that's not a place you want to get stuck at, if your opponent gets that ball back.
Although, I think the pros sometimes get away with doing a fair amount of ball watching.

It's not a habit.
Federer always moves forward after the drop shot.
He obviously realized that it was perfect and unreachable for Kudla the moment it left his racquet...

Roger can be no. 100 in the world. As long as he pulls a stunt like that every once in a while to entertain the crowd, stadiums will be packed, tickets will be sold, and I will be clustered to my TV whenever this legend plays.
This kind of rally is why I love him as a tennis player.

I started a thread about this. He seems to be using the reverse forehand more frequently lately. It could be a new tactic indeed. He hit an inside out reverse forehand winner against Del potro at Dubai, very Nadal like.

He's gotten a little slower.. Maybe it's just a necessity?

Yes this kind of elegant strokes is what makes him the goat for many, even though they might not win him the real slam.
