I have gotten used to stringing my own racquets and can now string 2 racquets in an hour.

I want to speed up my process, but the only thing that takes the longest is unwrapping the string. It always gets tangled and caught on the stringer.

Anyone know how to prevent tangles in the string and set up the string easier?

I take it out of the pack and hold it loosely in my hand. Then I take a free end and slowly unwind and let the free end fall to the floor, coil in palm. If it has a lot of coil memory, I might give a little tug on each length as I unwind and let it fall to the floor.

Put the string coil around the handle of the racket and pull on one end and it will unwind itself while you pull on the end. Watch the first 20 seconds of this video.

EDIT: I have modified my procedure just a little bit now I put the end of the string through one of the outside supports so it will pull the coil up the racket. If you just let it go it tends to get on the handle grip and does not uncoil as well.

I do something similar to Irvin's method. I take the set, snip the zip tie, and while still holding it, put it on my wrist as a bracelet. Grab a free end and it will come off like it's on a spool.
