Just curious....is any of you who gets so excited about whether Agassi is now wearing Adidas or Ginepri is now wearing UnderArmor (or whichever) over the age of 18? Okay...21? I really want to know if there's an adult out there who really cares about such things. Reveal yourself, then explain yourself.

The only way the Agassi-Adidas thing excites me is if, as a result, they produce better looking clothes. I'm not into the whole "skunk-look" with the stripe(s) down the back. :)

Good question...
...but methinks them types don't enjoy divulging themselves as... well, I'll not further discourage them from revealing their true identities...

I am now 18 and have been seriously interested in tennis for about 5 years. I never once worried about who wears what or w/e except if it was a really cool shirt (like Roddick's Speed shirts) and I was interested in buying one. But I don't care who wears what, why does that matter? I just wish that if Lacoste is gonna sponsor Roddick, a player who gets lots of air time, they start making some more interesting and fashionable items other than just solid colors. I know that the clothes are not what matter in tennis and that is not why I/we watch, but it just makes it more interesting when they do closeups on the players and whatnot.

Ollinger, very appropriate question as it seems many on various sections of this board are 'fashion' bugs. There's been a noticable increase in what could be termed 'youthful dribble' in many sections. Give some people a forum and they feel compelled to say things, even if most of it is inane stuff that most can't bear to read. Understand that many of the folks posting here will be responsible for leading our society in the future and taking care of we older folks. Comforting thought?

I don't see what the problem with solid colours is? I think it is OH so much classier. Seriously, I think Roddick's change to Lacoste made him look 3 years more mature and quite European as well. However I think its a great look for him! Of course there will be Nadal with his Bright Orange or Green Apple Shirts with Stripes all over, is that really more interesting? Just because they're flashy? If so, then why do we still have white dress shirts as a standard to many high class outfits? I think solid colours is a style of its own. No matter how fancy and crazy fashion gets, a simple shirt of a solid colour will always have its own appeal.
If you look at Roddick in USO 2004, he had this crazy "technology" shirt. Oh it was interesting all right, but damn did it look wrong! Afterwards he started wearing his Rapid Fire T-shirts and shorts, although they're not exactly solid colours, they are quite plain, just simple two tone shirts with Rbk Logo, but I think most would agree it made him look miles better...

Oh man, now we're ID-ing at the TW boards. To be honest, I dont really think anyone cares all that much - I mean, I don't, and neither do any of my older tennis friends.

Umm... What?
The OP asked if any adult cared. I said, I dont think anyone really does - the people I hang out with are in their early twenties. Also, they're all well...over 18, actually over 21 - so I asked if they were ID-ing here at tw. It was a joke. Lighten up people.

156, I assume the shirt you were referencing was that amazingly bad shirt with zig zags and random lines crossing all over the shirt (I think they actually called it "camo")... That was hideous. I also don't like the flash stuff like Nadal tends to wear (orange shirts and capris on men just don't do it for me). I am talking more like the shirt Federer wore at Wimbledon, the Speed shirts Roddick originally wore, and other more simple stuff that has interest, but isn't distracting or ugly. But again, I am more interested in seeing when new cool designs come out that I might want to buy than who is wearing what.

Meg... what does "ID-ing" mean? You were kind of obscure in your original post (http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=506920&postcount=12"). Forgive those who can't understand jargon. :D

I assumed it was a reference to checking ID's, as in to buy alcohol, etc.

Adidas shorts and shirts are a very high quality. Adidas gear does not always have the Skunk look.
