The court's way faster and the opponent's way slower than what Fed is usually playing on and against.

Ha ha... God mode indeed. Santoro struggled to get more than 25% of his ground-strokes past the service line in that video, with about 1/3 less pace than today's top players and on faster courts. Pretty sure that makes attacking pretty easy for guys like Federer.

You guys are so dumb. The courts was so much faster back then, which made for better tennis. Now the slow high-bouncing courts producers the boring and slow tennis for all the pushers like Nadal.

Faster courts, Fed was better, and it was entertaining. But he didn't exactly play godly that day. He doesn't go like 7-5 7-5 against Santoro if he is in God Mode. With all respect to Fabrice

Santoro claimed that match was the best match he played in his career. He was playing some magical tennis himself on that day.

His fluidity was way more apparent looking at these kinds of clips. Some of that is missing nowadays, not as fast, not as fluid, but alas it happens even to the best of them

If that was god mode (OP's link), it should have been triple bagel, not 5, 5, and 6.

But as you can see in those videos, the average depth of his forehand is much less than it used to be. That's why Djokovic is able to take control of points against Fed.

And Santoro benefited from the fast court more than Federer. You will never see a genuine Santoro-like player emerge these days. Slow courts favour the power game.

It's official, Rafa is a pusher.
Actually slow courts favor mechanical pushers
Does it take more power to hit a winner on a fast court or a slow court?
