That's 8 years of getting to the quarters quite amazing. A case for GOAT. Maybe he gets beat in the semi or finals but still this is quite amazing.

It's an incredible record but who here thinks he will make 10 straight years of QFs? That would truly be amazing.

Excellent record. One record that will probably never be bettered. Its just ridiculous. I actually don't think even his semis record will be broken. This is champion stuff, but expected from the greatest ever to pick up a racquet, IMHO.

I, personally, feel that his SF record is his most impressive record, greater than his slam record. But this QF streak is right up there. I fully agree! Really amazing records from Roger and I don't think they'll ever be matched!

You can't separate Federer's GS record from the SF streak.

23 SF streak with no GS wins= Garbage

23 SF streak with 14 of those GS won= God-like. This is what Federer did.

Congratulations to Roger! To have maintained such a high level of consistency for so long is staggering. All the best Roger, lets see how far you can take this one!

Mr Grand Slam! :)

What's amazing is that no one mentions any of this consistency as being a good thing. They're just complaining that he's not winning slams anymore. Wait, weren't those same people tired of watching tennis because Fed would always be the final winner?

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Any idea what the next record is? Nadal and Djokovic are around 11 and I think they have a good chance at getting to 20 but they won't come close to Federer's record. The seeding and the surfaces has kinda made it relatively easier than the past but 8 years straight is crazy to imagine regardless of the era.

Even though I understand your point, the bolded part is ridiculous. If someone reaches 24 in a row to beat it, I will congratulate him on an amazing record, regardless of how many of those he won.

14 wins makes it even better, but 23 SF is a great record in itself. 32 QF is as well.

This consistency also brought him his Roland Garros title. Whre Nadal makes 1 big push at the USO and reaches a level to win it, Federer just outconsistents his opponents. Djokovic and Nadal could not make the Quarters in RG 09.

#2 on the list is Lendl, with 14 consecutive quarters, so the gap with Federer is more than huge. I think that, since yesterday, Nadal is at 12, and Djokovic at 11.

Murray has that record wrapped up, maybe most major finals without a win.
