That was flipping brilliant! I only saw it just now during the replay on ITV4, but wow

I think he was as angry when the same thing happened in that Wimbledon final in 2008 though.

Wow he kind of looked a bit scary there for a second when they slowed it down.

But as others have said, am glad to have seen some emotion, he needed it to wake up. Also you can clearly hear someone yell "out" before the ball ever hit the ground on Del Potro's side, I'd been ****ed to, but unlike Roger I think I would said something a bit different. (worse that is).

Last year it was the finger wag... now we have another of Fed's emotional outbursts go viral.

What a time to start showing such emotion on the French Open... had he been more able to channel that anger he would have at least 1 or 2 more French Opens from Rafito.

No one ****s with ****ed Federer.

Yup, that was bloody awesome :). Fed's a legend.

I think it was awesome too.

Idk if you notice this, Zagor, but Djokovic can be pretty darn funny with his anger-filled moments on court. However, there is a double standard that exists on this forum; every time Djokovic shows emotion, people in the match threads call him out for being "fakerovic" "classless". I don't see many people doing that for Federer. Maybe it is because Federer shows anger so infrequently.

Well, there there's a double standard no doubt but it's also as you said due to the fact that 99% of the time Fed has a poker face on while Novak is constantly showing emotion (whether negative or positive) in his matches, though there was a time when Fed was a complete emotional headcase and I'd like to see more such stuff from him on court because it entertains me (don't really give a crap if he wins an Edberg award or not).

Regarding Novak, from what I've observed over the years he plays his worst tennis when he doesn't show any emotion, when he looks like a lifeless zombie on-court. Whenever he's cursing, yelling, breaking racquets etc. I know he's still in the match and can turn it around.

No, if someone calls out when YOUR shot lands very close, you relax for a split second and then you realize that it wasn't a legit line call, then your mind tries to come back to the point and you're two steps behind and you genrally miss your next shot. That's what happened, Fed's reaction is what she gets.

It is no secret that I don't like Federer as a person at all. However, he is 100% correct in this situation. That is just total ******* ********, no tennis player wants to win a point that way and antagonizing is not O.K. either.

I don't like Federer, but I would never pull and B.S. like that. If you love the sport of tennis, you want the best player to win, and you want them to win by them not by you.

Nope. DelPo knew the ball was going in all along so he already had his racquet back and he was going to rip it crosscourt regardless of any call. Whereas, Federer stopped playing just for that split second when he heard the call which caused him not to get to DelPo's next shot.

If that had happened in the Middle East or Latin America she'd already be dead.

Yes, because we all know that phallocentric patriarchy is ONLY the purview of Middle Easterners and Latin Americans, right?

Are women in the Middle East even allowed to attend professional tennis matches (especially alone)?

Seriously?! Please don't lump the entire middle east (an agglomeration of several countries) as one homogenous entity. I expected better from you BreakPoint.

Could you give the details of what happened. Who hit what ball out. What was the result ?

I have only the PC matches on telly, not SL. Tried a livestream but they were all freezing at each point -- impossible to watch. Anyway, at some point i stopped following the Fed match out of disgust.

Later came back and it was 2 sets all.

btw, i've stopped posting gifs. My dear "friend" complained and had 200 gif posts deleted. I might post a couple good ones in the Random Jokes thread, though.

It was set point for DelPo and Roger hit a slice that was well in, but the crowd started cheering before it landed. Del Potro hit a hard cross-court forehand and Roger dumped the next shot in the net.

Oh yes they are, everything has changed over here ( except that the Middle East's people thinking is just as backwards and illiterate as ever, but that's just between us ).

With Delpo leading 5-4 in the second set TB, Fed hit a slice BH that landed on the line. A spectator yelled "OUT" (followed by more noise from the crowd). Delpo had already reached for it and returned it but Fed was distracted by the spectator call , stopped playing for a split second and missed the next shot.

Good old Fed. I couldn't believe my eyes either when I saw him shout out 'shut up' but they are the rudest of all the slams I have seen. They don't deserve to have such talented people on their soil. Welcome to Wimbledon Fed where we treat the players the way they should be treated: with respect

Thanks for the details. I just saw the posted youtube also. Spectator calls have happened before, they will happen again.

No, there's no rule about posting gif's. Although, I suppose its understandable that one should be posting on-topic. In most of my posts a gif was either a response of another post, or I had some on-topic content and added a gif to make a point.

I did not get an email or a warning. I just noticed that about 200 posts (including those in the O&E section were gone), its like someone selected 200 in one go and pressed delete.

What I am surprised is that the person in question was posting negative stuff and then complained about me! He had his own -ive posts deleted too.

Sentigif is back everyone.
Not really, that's a one off case. You'll probably get one or two a week only :D

No. The gifs are not stored on the TW server or even served through their servers. Your browser parses the html and then requests the gif from your ISP. So it's your bandwidth and the server where the gif is hosted that bears the "brunt".

However, these gifs are actually very small (10-20KB) compared to the images posted (500KB-1MB).

The odd thing is, I don't think the chair admonished the crowd, which should have been done, certainly the crowd can't yell out in the middle of a point.

If a person heckles then action can be taken, iirc security has removed a person once. Was it the AO match -- Baggy versus Hewitt ?

But a one-off case like this is probably ignored.

I don't think my question was that out of line given that women are arrested just for getting behind the wheel of a car in Saudi Arabia: http://abcnews.go.com/International/saudi-women-arrested-jeddah-saudi-arabia/story?id=13957697#.T872RlIye6s

And my understanding is that women are not allowed to go out alone or be seen in public with another man that is not a close relative. All of these restrictions on women are based on Islamic law, are they not? And aren't almost all of the Middle East countries Islamic?

Saudi Arabia is the shame of arab islamic countries. They apply the most hardcore islamic rules, inspired from the wahabi tradition (bin laden was wahabii btw).
So yeah you're right about those restrictions. but at doha or dubai you always see the stadiums full of women, sometimes even hot muslim arabic milfs.

For your information, did you know that the women are not allowed to share the same space as men in the mur des lamentations in jerusalem?

Didnt the US senate yesterday refuse to vote a low allowing equal salary rights to women? in the US?

Did you know that in his book the dalai lama calls women "unholly spirits that man should ban from social life"

there a many exemples like this: segregation is always somewhere you see...

All my life i've been here, not much of a travel guy.

Yes the theme parks still are there, Qasaari is deserted ( cause they opened bigger and better similar places ) and Adaari's still active cause people over here like to enjoy theme parks in between uprisings

Controlling your temper is the key. Roger is a legend and is supposed to be an IDOL for most kids. if you do wrong, no matter how you feel at the time, you should say sorry.

How would you teach your kids?

^^^ Get over it. I hope that Federer doesn't appologize for this at all. Doing so at the pressure of the media for something that's a natural response to someone being an idiot (woman or not) would actually hurt his image. He needs to be seen as not being scared of what he stands behind. Screw with him and you're going to get a ***** slap.

How would you teach your kids?I don't know about you, but I wouldn't teach kids to idolize celebrities. Not to mention, yours is a rubbish argument anyway. Upbringing involves a lot more than watching a game of tennis. Not to mention, parents who want their kids to be 'perfect' everytime, leaving them no breathing space to be themselves, and force them to bottle up their emotions are not parents anyway. They're dictators.

Righto, Sir.
I teach my kids based on Rafa. They watch his tapes all the time. Everyone in their school and our neighbourhood says my kids are the epitome of humility, fair-play, respect, obedience, culture and class.

My son also has a very ordinary looking girlfriend. He is asking what is the significance of lining up bottles. I frankly have no answer.

Dear sir, the significance of such ritual is as arcane as human nature itself. But if you look closely, you will be able to determine after much effort (and possibly mild brain trauma) that the disposition of the bottles accurately reflects the runic configurations in Stonehenge.
