Delpo was in good form playing Nishikori and then went out in straight sets playing Ferrer. Ok, many would say Ferrer is better but I would expect an "in form" Delpo would put up a better fight.

Is the term "in form" really overrated because it varies so much?

Del Potro is weak-bodied and suffers from durability problems during a slam (and during an event, as he can't win masters shields). But I agree overall that "form" is overrated, merely because a lot of the guys cruising through are probably going to be thrashed once they face a top 4 player. No way of knowing if they are legit contenders or not until the QFs. Same applies to all slams..

With Del Po it's more of a match up thing. He's a bad match up for a lot of players. Not so much for others. I didn't see the matches, but I'm assuming Del Po was able to overpower and hit winners against Nishikori, but got counter punched into oblivion by Ferrer.
