This topic hasn't been discussed enough on this forum.

It's either Pancho or Federer IMO. These two have the strongest available resumes. I know Budge was a beast, Vines served bullets, Tilden toyed with his opponents, Laver had a beautiful and powerful all court game, etc. But I would still give the nod to Gonzales or Roger.

Doesn't matter. This is a discussion that will never be over but I if I had one match to win on one day I would take Sampras over anyone. He would have more trouble on clay but if the survival of the universe depended on it, Sampras would win. Two weeks on clay in France is a different story but one match on one day for all the marbles, Sampras wins.

More so than his skill level, I say this because of his will and his need to win and be the best. I say this in the best way anyone can ever say it, but Sampras was an a-hole with one thing in mind - beating your ***. That singular vision and lack of distraction is the reason he would take it home.

Rosol in the fifth set clearly. He made 2 unforced errors in his whole career and never dropped a set.

He also dropped four games against a Nadal with shattered kneecaps. Not GOATlike at all.
