Federer is probably not going to show up, he's already doing a string exos in South America in mid-December. I see him skipping Abu Dhabi and just playing Doha the following week. Djokovic might show up, but he'll be exhausted from the YE#1 push. Murray might show up, but who knows.

Who cares about Abu Dhabi? It's just an exo and it means zip.

I'm just saying Nadal is reduced to contending for meaningless exos where nobody shows up but him.

Davydenko won Abu Dhabi....means nothing. It not an indicator of a true tournament.

If Nadal wins Doha....then that is a good sign.

Probably? The 6 players that will compete were already announced and Federer isn't one of them.

It might not be a 'true tournament', but I saw Berdych arguing with the umpire over a point in last year's tournament. So it is probably worth something to the players (or, maybe just Berdych, who Nadal has beaten in their last 11 encounters, leading the H2H 12-3).

Why does Davydenko winning Abu Dhabi mean it is worthless? Davydenko won WTF 2009, I guess that must be worthless too.

Nadal won Abu Dhabi 2010, 7-6 7-5 against Robin Soderling, and

Nadal won Abu Dhabi 2011, 7-6 7-6 against Roger Federer.

So Nadal is the only player to win Abu Dhabi twice (in consecutive years, 2010-2011) and make three consecutive finals (2009-2011).

Nadal.....zero WTF and zero Abu DHabi. Lol Rafa won Abu Dhabi twice. I'm sure he would gladly exchange those for 1 WTF though. I know I would :)

130.....Federer looks happy there...since it was an exhibition. Who cares if Nadal won an exhibition twice.

When it matters....Nadal is bitter and dissapointed. Had he lost Abu Dhabi....he won't cry with that big fat paycheck.

When it matters, Nadal is bitter and disappointed? Yep, that's why Nadal has an 8-2 slam H2H against Federer. Looks like Federer has been the one who has been bitter and disappointed when it matters (the slams).

AND Nadal has won 95 games, more than anyone else in the history of the Abu Dhabi tournament, and can add to that in Abu Dhabi 2012.

How bitter and dissapointed he must have felt when Federer won Wimbledon.....negating forward triumph at RG.

Still back to a 6 slam decifet. Watch Federer increase the hurfle at 2013 Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open.

He will let Rafa have the FO....while still gaining an additional 2 slam lead.

Nah, Nadal isn't bitter and disappointed. Federer didn't win a slam from Roland Garros 2010 to Roland Garros 2012. More than two years. Whereas Nadal, from Roland Garros 2011 to Roland Garros 2012, made 5 consecutive grand slam finals, the only player to be on such a streak at the time. And Nadal won 2 of those slam finals. So Nadal has been more consistent in the slams than Federer recently, and we saw Federer be touted to win US Open 2012 and then lose to Berdych at US Open 2012 (who Nadal has beaten in 11 previous encounters and leads the H2H 12-3). Only a 6 slam deficit, which Nadal can reduce to a 2 or 3-slam deficit when Nadal wins 3 slams in 2013 (and he has a great chance at winning the Calendar Year Grand Slam too). And Federer doesn't 'let' Nadal win the French Open, if Nadal is 5-0 against Federer at Roland Garros (4-0 in finals).
