Does the ab wheel give your whole torso a workout ( obliques, upper abs, lower abs, ...)?

Kirko, how many can you do starting from a standing position? (ie, knees never touch the ground).

you kneel on the ground and roll out then back. Stsrt out slow ! you will be using muscles you never knew you had. Do 10 reps. the first time then see how you feel the next day and start from there. Your upper body gets toned also like you have been lifting light weights. it blows away crunches ! There is pic. of a girl or guy on the box that shows you the position you use and should be instrucrion sheet inside also. Its great I been doing it for many yrs. Good Luck !

Yes it does. I wouldn't use it or reccomend it if it didn't deliver results quickly. combine this wheel exercise with good diet and tennis. your stomach will be like a "wasboard". good luck !

Lie face down on the floor. Then, move your arms underneath you so that the sides of your forearms are touching the ground. Move your feet like you would to do a push up and then push your abs up so they're no longer touching the ground. See how long you can hold it. If you're doing it correctly, you should be hurting before even one minute is up.

Kirko, I know how it works, but try them from a standing position for an even tougher workout...

to me just doing it as "instructed" is good enough for me.

Kirko, been using the ab wheel for a month now. slowly increasing reps. Question why do you recommend every other day instead of every day? I thought ab should be worked every day.

Thanks a lot...now that I've read this thread I'm going to have to go in the basement and dig out my ab wheel so that I can work on my abs... on Jan. 4thstarted eating "right" and running every other day so I guess I can start getting my abs in shape too!!!

V-ups work best IMHO and no equipment needed. Google 'Gutbusters' by Joyce Vedral, great book.

I like the Ab Wheel ... but I also like to add some torsional work. Do a Google on "Russian Twist" or "Woodchoppers" to learn some more core work which helps your tennis.

Those with weak wrists would find ab wheels a pain in the, umm, wrists.

I'm going to try the ab wheel as well. I've also done the 8-minute abs workout and that too is a very good daily workout routine.

It's how you get those rock solid six packs like you and I have.

It's too bad obliques aren't too much sixpacks, which are the upper abdominals -the "rectus abdominis" muscles.
