Will another player ever win again win more than 160 matches and lose less than 10 matches in two consecutive seasons?

Federer, of course, did it. Going 173-9 between 2005-2006.

Djokovic could have done it this year. If he had won 90 matches and lost 3 matches. (He is currently 70-11)

Nadal has always lost at least 10 matches in a season, except this year (currently 42-6). If he went 119-3 next year, he would do it.

Lendl came close in 1985-1986 going 158-13.

McEnroe came close in 1984-1985 going 153-12.

Connors came close in 1974-1975 going 172-12.

Borg came close in 1977-1980 (can not find any reliable win-loss records from those years, but he was above 90% winning percentage all four years).

The defeats from Federer in this period:

Nadal - '05 and '06 Roland Garros, '06 Monte-Carlo, '06 Rome, '06 Dubai
Nalbandian - '05 Master's Cup
Murray - '06 Cinci
Gasquet - '05 Monte Carlo
Safin - '05 Australian Open

Interesting, half of his losses were on clay.

Also interesting that he lost no matches on grass and only lost to one man (clay GOAT) on clay.

The most interesting thing to me is that he had match points in three of the losses and was two points from victory in another match.

Also, I can not imagine another player ever again losing to only 5 players over 2 years or 2 players in one year.

I still can't believe his 2006 Record. other than the Cinci match, which was out of nowhere.. No one could stop him, except Nadal.

Which three matches he had match points? I remember Rome 2006 and AO 2005. Also when was he two points away from victory?

It's almost breath taking.
