By tank I mean lose in an early round (before semis). He has a tough draw in Paris and he already has the #1 in the bag. Would make more sense to try to win WTF which is more prestigious than Paris.

For the record, I don't think tanking is an excuse for a loss. Tanking means that you ran out of gas / think you will run out of gas - being fit/ready enough to play at a high level is part of being a great player.

No! Why would he do that?? He should be rested enough. It's not 2011 anymore. He's played some of his best tennis of the last 2 years in Beijing and Shanghai, and showed no real physical problems, plus he's 25.

Djokovic had a two great consecutive weeks in China, looks much fresher than last year, so I don't think he will...

He's complaining about illness, so possibly.

If he meets an inspired opponent, e.g Del Potro in the QF. Then on this occasion I'd heavily favour Del Potro off his Basel win and Djokovic being ill/thinking about WTF more.

No, his father was ill, but it seems that everything is all right...

Now that he's got the #1 rnking in the bag, I'd say it's a possibility.

100% agree. Actually, Murray might do the same thing, to concentrate on the WTF and let the 2nd Tier of players scrounge from the left overs of the top 3.

Indeed. Winning in London again after the Olympics would be something huge for Murray.

It might be the springboard he needs to bolster his 2013 performance, esp at the OZ open and his dream to be world's number 1.

He tweeted that he himself was sick. Not much to defend, he'll tank.

Nope, I don't think so, if he is healthy at least.

If he's worrying about his father, he won't put his best results into the tournament. If his father (or him) are fine, he should make the finals.

What is wrong with his father? What did I miss?
