I thought it weird that it didn't come with a leather grip. It came with some weird unknown brand rubber grip. Pro's something. So I figured the previous player disliked leather grips for some reason. Upon removing the grip, I was surprised to find black plastic covering the handle rather than the usual hard foam found on most racquets. Are all Head racquets like this or is this a fake?

Thats a HEAD pallet. That is how HEAD racquets come.

Head uses a pallet system, they don't use molded handles
If it's a fake then its extreemly good - the but cap, pallets etc appears real and the real ones have the foam in the frame. Sounds like the leather grip has been changed for a pro's pro grip to lighten it.

Agree thats a pallet and not the actual grip, it would have had a leather grip over it... strange someone would remove the grip, they must like it!
Just add your grip over it and you're good to go.
