Is it unusual how little changed in the top 10 this year compared to last year? Nadal fell down to four because of injury, moving Federer and Murray a spot up. Tsonga did a bit worse, (from 6 to 8) and Delpo replaced Fish. Only 1 other player in it altogether.

Is this unusual or has this happened a lot over the years? Particularly the fact that the same players are ranked 9 and 10 surprises me.

Had a quick look at year end top 10 back to 2004. The average number of new people is 3. It's been the same top 4 since 2008 which is incredibly stable and must surely end in either 2013 or 2014

Federer and Murray rankings basically rise and fall with the real players' (Nadal and Djokovic) health.

Murray and Djokovic are turning into front wheels instead of back wheels.

How come Murray beat Djokovic at the US Open and came close to beating him in Shanghai? Even Djokovic said Murray's level has risen a great deal this season. And Federer's been no slouch, he just made it to the final of Basel, won Wimbledon, and has had a better year this year. Even when Nadal was fighting for titles, Federer was pushing for the #2 spot behind Djokovic.

This has been a bad year for people with breathing issues, so Murray barely beat a near-dying Djokovic at the US Open. Of course, he is always gracious in his comments about his rivals and friends. Oh and Federer made the final at Basel? What the hell is Basel anyway?

What was wrong with Novak's health at wimbledon, OG and USO?

The unprecedented weather conditions this year exacerbated his breathing issues.

What unprecedented weather conditions? It looked and felt like a regular British summer to me, and given that the USO was played on Monday due to weather last year and it didn't stop Noel winning the USO, it seems to me that you've made an assertion that is unsupported by any facts.

Wimby weather was the same as any other year, as was the USO weather - so what 'unprecdented' weather conditions do you mean?

He lost so there must have been something wrong.
No mere mortal could possibly beat Djokovic without something being wrong.
Opponent play well I hear you say.
