View Full Version : need new string for tfight320

I am going back to my favorite racquet. t320.
I am a 4.0 baseliner 70%singles 30% doubles(prefer singles). I am getting back from a wrist injury and I unfortunately think I must depart from my beloved BHBR.
Should I try gut at a hi tension or can you guys offer some ideas on a comfortable poly(prefer) or gut or hybrid(never tried) that will tame the power of this stick and that can be strung somewhat hi to accentuate the control that it has.
thanks for any ideas.

I am with tfight 320 vo2 max with arm issues and I am trying to avoid poly at all:
So far I have (used bellow in order of preference):
-NG 58/61-Liked but still looking...
-Gamma ruff 60/60 I liked a lot but afraid of the Synthetic Gut stiffness..
-NG at 57 for mains/Alpha 2000 18 at 57 for crosses -Didn't liked as I could not control the power of the stick.
Next I am trying NG at 62-64 or higher…

I had the 325 and it's one of the more stiffer sticks I used. You sure your wrists can handle it?
Biphase is ok at any tension. I've tried 62 and 51 and I actually prefer the latter

325 has a stifness of 68 vs 66 of 320. Also 325 has a more dense string patern: 18/19 vs 16/19 of 320.

just hit for an hour or so with vs touch @62. Pretty good, no major pain. Will see how the next hrs go but thinking 64-65 next time. Had to hold back somewhat when the pace picked up...just a little long. Miss the control of poly.
It is the stiffest racquet I own. I prefer a softer feel but I really like hitting with this stick.

do you think that by going to a nat. gut from poly reduced my swingweight?

To my knowledge if another setup it's not changed (grip lead…) and the weight of the strung racquet stays the same the SW would remain unchanged (the same with the balance). This is assuming that the poly and NG strings have the same weight...which I doubt.
In such conditions if the racquet with NG its lighter than with poly the SW will decrease as well and vice versa.

i could swear it was easier on my wrist just swinging before contact.
