Hello,
according to Prince there is no real date for this racquet at the moment other than "sometime in 2013".
Sorry,

Prince is famous for silly drawn-out introductions of products. The NXG series was introduced with one tiny piece of a picture of the racquet being added each week to the website over I believe a few months, until the entire picture was filled in.

FWIW, the supposed release date is February 2013 or so I heard. Anyway, we'll see.

Can't wait to demo the ESP against the Steam 99S. That should be a fun trip.

16x16 pattern
Roughly 31.5 balance (nicely done as about 8-10 Points Headlight )

Looking forward to this fall.

Are those unstrung specs? Or strung? Seems like 8-10 HL and 300 grams strung would have a very low swingweight.

unstrung specs

I asked him about the stiffness describing my disappointment with so many frames from many companies, including Prince and Wilson that measure over 65 RDC.

I told him that I had purchased Prince O3 White, EXO White, Exo Black and a few Wilson and Babolat Frames and my arm just keep saying "no thanks"

Told him I think, a more flexible frame will provide the added control a very open pattern like a Wilson Steam 99S needs. That was Prince's logic as well. He mentioned the two pros using the frame now and was very excited with their results.

I didn't ask about the Swingweight, but I plan to add about 16-18 grams of lead to get the static weight up to roughly 336 - 338 grams. The stock frame is 300 grams.

So 300+15 grams (strings) and 5 grams (overgrip) = 320 grams with strings.

The Swingweight can be tweaked with lead, so I am looking forward to hitting with this frame.

300 grams unstrung

320 with strings and an overgrip would be a rough guess.

338 when I had some lead. ;)

Probably worth a demo just to see if the stiffness is bothersome.

Being recently out of bankruptcy is a little like being recently out of jail --- you're probably a little strapped for cash and people (creditors) are going to wait a bit to see if you've really reformed your behavior.

If they don't, I might buy a Team or Light version and extend it by 0.5 to 1 inch.

With the lack of extended players frames I'm considering molding a longer handle.

PBODY99

The lack of extended length frames is short sighted on the part of the manufactures. Since they want to have low pick up weight the extra length gives it a player swing-weight and fits with the profile of a good size group of players.

@Federerkblade,

I wish we were all at the French Open, but sadly I have been at my desk. We have no response for you because we don't have any news unfortunately.

A wild approximation would be September/October, it's annoying seeing other people getting it and not having any news but we haven't actually heard anything from Prince.

I'll try to make sure to keep you all updated if/when I hear anything.

Still same info. Approximately end of September, early October is looking like when they're going to be available to you guys -- just so you know, we often have order dates but they're never set in stone so we're still a little up in the air about exact days. Will keep you posted!

How was the spin? What strings were in it? How soft was it? Did you feel the launch angle of the ball off the racket was high?

Did you ever hit with a Wilson Steam 99S for comparison of the two frames ?

Wondering how the Prince ESP Tour felt compared to the Steam in the stiffness aspect ?

Mig1NC

Yeah, I'd really like to get an idea for the stiffness.

g4driver
09-26-2013, 03:10 AM
This spring I spoke with one of the Product Managers from Prince who had detailed information about the frame and which players were using it. He believe he told me it measured 64 which was right in the range of 64-66 I was hoping for.

Hi again,
Mikeler
Ridiculous spin, I hit with a lot anyway, more than I normally get.
An orange Prince experimental poly (guessing new Beast Bite?)
My blade has the stiffness around 64, a complete softer racket, great comfort!
I hit with a lot of spin normally, so it didn't take a lot getting used to but it was, surprisingly even when hitting flatter, still retained control.
g4driver
Unfortunately not, but we tested 3 rackets. The Tour 100 ESP, Rebel 98 ESP and Warrior 100 ESP. Overall this would be racket of choice if the weight was 11.7 oz and a swingweight around 330.
Really good playtest, one of the best I've hit with in a while!

Thanks!

Thanks

Thanks for the post-

It weighs 300grams unstrung - same as Wilson Pro Opens- I add lead and leather and get my frames up to 330 grams -

Hoping this frame hits like the Steam 99S with less stiffness, and a little more control.

JRM1

g4driver,
Same, as long as the weight is above 11.4 oz and the swingweight is between 330-335. The Tour ESP would be my racket of choice if I could weight it up. The experimental poly, was a shaped string, but only a 3 sided string. Personally I would recommend Babolat RPM Blast or Volkl Cyclone in these rackets, even if it's a stiff string, it should be comfy enough with the stiffness in the low 60's. Would love try this racket with them strings!
