Anyone ever get chills while you're running? Not just chills but like goosebumps and the works. It's the weirdest thing. Today it was like 87 degrees, and I was at my tennis practice. We run a lot and I was just about to finish a mile and a half and i got all these goosebumps and chills but I felt like I was hot. It was so weird.

did you havea temperature? sometimes exposure to the sun can cause that kind of sensation.

That seems very close to a kind of "pre" heat exhaustion symptom. Have you been hydrating enough? (Monitor yourself carefully. Make sure you -- and your Coach -- don't merely "shrug this off.")

Exactly. It's often the first sign of heat exhaustion. Your body heats up so much that the air feels very cold in relation to your skin temperature. That's what causes the goosebumps. Make sure that you're hydrating properly and taking adequate breaks to cool down.

From another thread...
I don't like/drink water. This could be a LOT of your problem. It takes only 28 days (some say 21) to create a habit. Start learning to like water, Meg....

This is a warning sign. I have been a runner for years including in some hot and humid conditions. If you are not a runner, you have to build up to distances even as short as 1 1/2 miles, and as others have stated, stay hydrated.

I play with a group of doctors and we've talked about it before. Often times it is from your body temp's. Be careful and slow down a bit when you feel this sensation.
