Is the serve like starting a rally from a VOLLEY position? Except that you are far away from the net and we have our volley grip Ready!
This simple mindset makes me think that I am starting a rally which makes me feel like the King of that game. Whenever I struggle with serves, I basically put my mind like this.

Um, do you mean returning serve? I don't know how you possibly relate serving to starting a rally at the net.

If your serve really is like a volley (and I have seen some that are), then you really need to work on that.

I think you are on the wrong track. You should at least think of it as an overhead, but with a controllable power/placement. If it is an overhead slice it is even better. Slice the ball into the box to start the point. Don't even think of it as a weapon yet.
No. A serve is hit into a service box.
A volley is hit anywhere on the opponent's court.
More pace on serve too.
