Babolat players have the new logo on their strings from now?Bad move for me, from the stands on TV it will not stand out like the two bold lines.

The logo itself is better than the old one which is too busy and it does resemble a B for Babolat, but on the strings itself it just looks like something important has gone missing.

Yeah I would agree with the actual logo, but I would have done line Head do like they never have the word Head below the arch logo.

I imagine they are using that smaller logo as the ink on poly, what most players are using wears of quick, less chance in the corner. Who knows, i know I made the thread but who cares lol.

i liked better the logo that they had at one point on the pure storm i think. the two lines didn't go all the way to the frame. they stopped at about an inch from the frame. i guess it didn't stick

Looks cool on black strings. Head edited their logo about 6-7 years ago I think and that stands out more. Must be some logic behind it.

I don't know if this would work but they should have done a stencil where instead of nothing and the new logo, there should be a colour switch with new logo being foregrounded with a different colour to the background.

So the whole two line stencil effect remains. It would require a gap between the two parts of the stencil and two inks but it could work.

I think the new Babolat stencil looks kind of like the Tecnifibre logo:

http://img190.imageshack.us/img190/989/logotecnifibre2004.jpg

I realize that the Technifibre stencil is actually a triangle, but the new "B" and the "TF" lines are similar.

Babolat has had the two lines stencil on the bottom of the string bed for at least 30 years, so I'm not sure why they would change now. Seems to me that Marketing and Branding 101 would say that if you've taken years to establish a well known logo that is easily recognizable and synonamous with your company, you wouldn't wipe all of that away just for the sake of change. It's kind of like if Mercedes changed their hood ornament to a square with an "M" in the middle... it would be totally unnecessary and a waste of previous branding awareness.

Looks nice on the frames, but every time I see the logo I want it to be flipped horizontally to look more like a B.

Much better than 2 lines, IMO.
It's more dynamic, and looks like a "real" logo.

In my mind, the new logo looks like the insides to a capitol 'A' which would stand for 'Aero Pro'. However with the new logo present on all three of the sicks, this can't be the actual interpertation of it.

This logo change reminds me of the Starbucks logo changes, suttle so it is still distinguishable.

Funny story:

Stringing at a futures this week, and one of the players came back after taking his Babolat out of the poly bag. He asked if we were tyring to save stencil ink, as we had not completed the entire stencil. We had to explain to him this was the new Babolat stencil. :)

Here is the song from the ad. Got it from the band's myspace page.

If you mean 'Where'd I get the stencil'?, then I'm supplied them as part of the Babolat stringing team here in the UK. So when I'm stringing at a tournament I'm able to put the new design on the players rqts.

I've said this elsewhere, but I think it is ridiculous to build up the recognition of the "double line" stencil for many years, and then change it to this. I've seen this stencil used on new rackets, and it just looks a mess in my opinion.

However they changed it slightly, not using this stencil on Tsonga's racket, but using narrower lines and a bigger gap between them, and it looks quite good on his racket.

A small difference but really improves it I think!

Nope, they did it exactly by the stencil, look at the ink marks on the stencil, and carefully at the stenciled racquets:

THe creativity is over at Wilson and Prince, I suppose. THose are the only companies w/o even a minor logo update over the past decade.

I think Dunlop did, so did head. Yonex did, too. Slazenger as well.

I like the new Babolat double line flag. It's grown on me.

Well they are ski companies first!

Btw the original HEAD logo was a simple dot . On the tip of their first skis back in the 50s....they added the stylized ski tip as the DOT just too plain.

The new Babolat logo reminds me of the old Emrik logo (Australian brand; used by Evonne Goolagong, Kim Warwick and Wally Masur). Not a great association as Emrik was pretty much a byword for second-rate racquets.

But the rackets themselves looked better in the old days too.
