Please help me figure out what I am doing wrong in my backswing with my wrist and/or elbow? Seems like my racket comes down differently compared to a normal forehand.

Heard some suggestions about showing you string bed to the side fence etc. but nothing seems to help :(

What should I think about when hitting my forehand to make it look normal like the guys below?

From what I could tell, you don't have your palm facing down before the swing to contact, at the end of your backswing. Also, you don't bring the racquet below the ball. I also am trying to adjust this. Other posters please correct me if I am wrong.

from what i see you are a bit out of balance on some of you shots and you compensate for that by little modifications of your swing. i think you should position yourself better.
from my experience leg work and good preparation before a shot are more important than a powerful shot.

I think the swing path looks pretty good.

The biggest issue that I'm seeing is with your feet and legs. Even when you have the time to set-up, get into semi-open and weight the back/outside leg, you don't seem like you're really comfortable doing it. When you swing your weight is really on your front foot, not on the back. Your outside/back leg flips up during the stroke. You're legs are not bent that much and you're not getting much power out of them.

When you set-up in that semi open stance you want to think about getting that back leg behind the ball and weighted. Get those legs bent and then use that bent back leg to drive your hips around. That bent back leg driving your hips starts a very powerful kinetic chain.

You seem a lot more comfortable hitting from close to a neutral stance, the weight is on your front foot, and the back leg swings around after the hit. That foot work is fine when you set-up too far behind the ball (for whatever reason) and you need to step into it to hit it and then swing the back leg forward for recovery. But it's not going to give the power and rhs that you can get when you can set-up semi open, get your legs bent, and then drive with that back leg.

One other thing, look at the contact point. It's hard to tell from the video, but it seems like you're eyes are focused forward, not on the contact point. Watch the ball right into that spot where your racquet is going to rip the cover off of it. Keep your eyes focused there a bit after the hit like Federer does. Once the ball leaves your racquet there's not much to look at for serveral tenths of a second anyway.

Every once in a while I can do the above and it works really well.

The only suggestion I have is to post some vids with the camera centered and behind you. The camera angle in the current vid is pretty good and shows a lot, but I think it would also help to see your stroke from behind and showing the whole court. Best of luck with your improvement.

I think it's really hard to evaluate groundstrokes against a wall. Psychologically I think we are different knowing that the ball wont go "out" so we dont get a snapshot of our true swing. It would be great to see your forehand on the court, with a partner, to see how similar it is.

Looks good to me, though.

Your strokes look good, I think if the ball is going were you want
it to go with the spin and power you want, you donīt have to
focus on how your backswing looks.
Everybody knows how to walk and we all look different walking.
Just pay attention to the basics, or if there is something not going the way it should then work on it, if its not broken donīt fix it.

It's hard to tell what your grip is, because you are so far back in the court. Are you using a continental grip? If so, that may account for the difference in you stroke. If you do use a continental or a "classic" eastern, you can modify it to more of an eastern-plus or a semi-western. This will bring your elbow down and allow you to hit through the ball with more of a natural low-to-high follow-through and get more action on the ball.

If you come to think about anything else, please let me know. I will try the palm trick to see if that works as well as the other suggestions you gave me :)
