Difference between Pure Control and Pure Control MP

Are the Babolat Pure Control midplus racquets colored black in the upper hoop area?

I found the Babolat website and the only coloring difference I see between the Pure Control midplus and the Pure Control is that the midplus is black and the Pure Control is red in the upper hoop area.

Is this the only coloring difference and are all midplusses black in that spot?

I do not know the answer to your question but hopefully I can let you know on Friday. I ordered both the MidPlus (100) and the Standard (97) demos, as well as the Pure Drive and Pure Drive Plus. So I'll try to remember to let you know the answer when they come in.

The MP is a little lighter and also more flexible.

Yup, the midplus is black on top, and more flexible, as well as a touch lighter. Personally, I found that I needed to add some lead at 3 and 9 to bring it up to 12 oz, then it is an awesome frame indeed.
