When racquet companies specify tension ranges for racquets are they referring to constant pull tension or manual crank tension? According to the USRSA, tensions are 10% higher when using machines utilizing constant pull technology. Thanks for any input.

Progressive, the tension ranges they specify work with either type of machine. I would not exceed it on either type if the frame is still under warranty.

Gaines, for example the range for a Prince Graphite Classic is 57-67 lbs. 57 lbs. on a constant pull will feel like 62 on a Gamma 503 or Prince Neos (calibration being equal). I guess that you have to play around with the tension to see what feels right.

progressive, you're right abou that. There are other factors too. Technique is just as important. If you clamp off quickly after each pull on a crank machine the difference in tension will be less.
