View Full Version : String feeding into frame

I am a fairly inexperienced stringer (30 racquets) but the other night I was stringing a racquet (Dunlop 500G) that had only been strung 1 time before and that was by me. But when I was attempting to tie off the final cross I couldn't get the string to feed through the tie-off hole which was blocked by another string. I tried everything I could be the string would only feed into the frame and around the inside of the frame. I assume that this means that the grommet was broken? Is this common on a frame that was only strung once before and played with very little?

I guess the only solution is to use tubing or replace the gromments?

Thanks,

The grommet's broken or the grommet is flawed, ie it has a hole in it from the moulding process. My wife plays with the 500G and I've strung several of them with no problem.

You are correct in your assumption that tubing or grommet replacement is the way to go. Or you could replace the whole kit, but that would probably be overkill.
