105 mph in the box, im' 15 it was with an ncode npro. BUT i don't think teh radars at tourneys are accurate because if you serve rite at them it records a faster speed then if you serve a little bit away from them, because my firend had a **** serve and it hit the fence at the side and it was like 20 mph lol but hten he did the same **** serve rite at the machine and it said 46 mph, then i served and i got 105 mph :) :D

im 16, my fastest serve was 128, my fastest serve that went in the box was 122, but I seriously think that I have and can serve even faster with a better technique, When I get my first serve in its almost always an ace...especially down the line baby!

156 MPH! j/kz... you guys are so lucky, I don't know where to measure... I'd love to though...

saw roddick serving 135 at cincy the other day... makes we wonder how many of us are actually over 100 mph.. i was sure i was, but now i don't know. lead tape definitely helps me get huge serves.

if roddick's 153 mph serves can be equated to tiger or vijay's 360 yard drive, then 100 mph serve equates to 240 yard drive, which does seem reasonable... but can you compare the two sports/measures?

110 with the nCodes.

I really think that sometimes its not measured right or exactly only in specific circumstances, and plus you arent accounting for the precision, accuracy and spin that pros put into their serves as well, its totally different

I haven't had mine clocked since the late 70's. At that time, using my Spalding Big Bow I was second in a first serve contest clocked at 112. Not bad for wood.

If I had to guess I'm probably about 110 average and my kicker is about 85-90.

I served 155. But that was at Davis Cup, it's probably more like 70 on regular radars.

Back in the late 1980s Head had a promotion at pro tournaments that if you beat Roscoe Tanners best serve of the day you could win any Head racquet.

You paid a dollar for three serves if I rememeber right.

Tanner served 118 mph.

I spent about five bucks and about threw out my shoulder trying to beat it. I got one at 124 mph, but it was on clay and they checked the mark and I just missed.

My best in the box that day was 117 mph, but the balls were not new... that's my excuse anyway.

Needless to say I left without a racquet. I think three or four young guns beat it that day.

Vantage, wood frames have the smae power as modern frames but waaay less contorl. Btw Mark Philipousis tested both rackets and he hit the same speeds on his serve.

How good are you? What is your NTRP rating. Do you play any ITF junior tournaments? What raquet do you use?

95-100mph? 170-180kph is my max for a well hit serve down the T. I'm not very tall, so if i hit any harder than 150-160kph and i'll hit slightly long on most serves.

Do you want to tell me that you can serve as fast as roddicks average serve and many other top pros?

Gurj,

Wood vice graphite? Not even close. My Big Bows were super-duper flexy, if I had to guess probably measured in the high 40's.

Graph is way stiffer, therefore way more powerful. Oh, and wood is a hell of a lot more controllable.
