Many people say dense pattern is great for hitting flat but I flatly don't like dense pattern. Any open pattern racquets good for hitting flat?

I found the Wilson nTour (16x20 @95sq) to be quite good at flat strokes. Good power, yet, nice reponse and control when hitting flat.

I am also interested in this question. What about the Yonex RDX 500-Mid?? Anybody have an opinion on how that would work for a flatter hitter used to denser string pattern sticks??

I use the Mid and have an eastern grip...I hit with moderate top about half the time, occassional heavier top on 10%, flatter on the remaining. Have found the Yonex to work very well for both topspin and flatter hits.

Try the Dunlop MaxPly McEnroe. Very good frame for a flat hitter. The Slazenger Pro Braided Henman was also good for flat hitters, expecially if you like a stiffer frame.
