I made a deal with this guy more than 2 weeks ago to buy the 2 Pure Drive +'s that someone else stood him up on. I sent payment to him on Sunday, Aug 28th. That box I dropped the check in was picked up first thing Monday morning at 6:00 am. To mail an envelope from Western PA to Oklahoma should not take more than 3 or 4 days, but apparently it took until Saturday to get there. Then, he said the rackets were shipped out on the Tuesday after Labor Day. I have shipped UPS, FedE,x and USPS ground, and have never had a racket I shipped out or to me take more than 3 days, even going from my area all the way to California on some occasions.

Ths isn't that bad I guess, but things start to seem fishy when he claims he does not have a tracking number or confirmation number because it was his wife that shipped out the rackets. Also, he would not respond to any of my e-mails unless I had threatened to take action.

All in all, 2+ weeks later and I am out $210.

I am not chalking this up as a negative experience yet, as I did find some positive feedback on here about him, but this seems awefully slow to this point.

I am going to give it a little bit more time before I start taking some more serious action...I am a NCAA Div.2 player who starts #2 singles as a walk on, so I have no scholarship money. I buy all my own equipment, as all our program recieves funding for is shoes and jerseys.

If anyone has any experiences with this guy, let me know by either responding on here or to my e-mail: jcblueeyes427@yahoo.com

Keep in mind Mark is from Louisiana near where I am and Baton Rouge where he is has been crazy as the population doubled and the flow of mail and packages on all systems has been bad here the last few weeks since the hurricane. Most of our major carriers normally port everything through New Orleans (which most of us should know by now does not exist at this point) so give him some time on this one, I know who he is and I think you will be fine here.

If thats the case, then I would understand the delay. However, the address he had sent me to mail the check to was in Oklahoma. Thats where I get confused.

Well, it looks as though I have been had. It is now Friday here around noon and still no sign of any rackets, no tracking number, no anything.

Be aware future traders/buyers of mark_1981!!!

$210 down the drain

His feedback seems to be under the name Mark Johnson.

Another update...still no rackets...his feedback is very contradicting to my experience.

As far as what goes around, comes around. Any past transactions I have made are all in the clear now. The one bad instance was a case of my e-mail account being hacked into and making a deal that I had not known about. I even refunded the guy some money because I felt bad about the situation.

I did no wrong in this deal to deserve a bad transaction.

I bought a used stringer from Mark 1981 about a year ago, the box had a tear in it and a couple of the plastic stops for the mounting system were missing so I had to spend about $20 of my money to replace them, he promised he would send me the money but it never happened. I know he moved here from England, maybe he went back there. I hope you get your rackets, the guy seems reasonably responsible.

ok, now for my side, my wife mailed the rackets on the thursday after labor day and I did get him a confirmation number! Unfortuently he didn't know what to do with it because when he checked it, it said accepted in edmond, oklahoma. he thought this meant I still had the rackets. Accepted means that the post office accepted the package from me and that it was in their hands. It was mailed 7-10 days priority but as it wasn't express it wasn't guarented, so sometimes takes a little longer. Nothing i could do now that it is with the post office, it was on its way. the about a week went by I am out of town so couldn't check my email until I came back I had about 4 off john saying he was going to take me to court, so as i had just checked them I replyed. I have been emailing him latly to see if the rackets have got to him and he has not responded since last monday. he is a pain in the *** and I wouldn't do business with him again.

Priority Mail takes 2-3 days cost less than $7 for two racquets and for another $3 you can insure them. Its YOUR resposibility as a seller to insure that the product YOU are selling arrives to its proper destination by whatever means. You either owe him two racquets or his cash plain and simple.

Priority Mail is NOT less than $7 for 2 rackets anymore, but it is 2-3 day delivery. If his wife sent them and she said 7-9 days, she probably didn't send them Priority Mail. He'll probably get them eventually. Sometimes regular mail is slow. I always use Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation and usually insure them. I know this cost more, but to me, it's worth it. I think when the stamp "Insured" on the box, they somehow make sure it gets delivered.
