View Full Version : What Do You Think of This Color? (Bag)

This bag seems to have what I want, but I just can't get over the color...what do you guys think? If you were going to buy a prince bag, would you ever consider this color? I like the new 2005 team bags like sharapova has, but the 6 pack doesn't seem to have as many pockets and the 12 pack bag would be too big.

Also, does anyone have this bag or does anyone have the Prince 2005 Team 6 pack bag?

it's not my favorite color...but if you go for it I guess you'll get used to it. It all depends on the mood...sometimes I like wearing cool things like anyone uses (so I wouldn't buy this bag) sometimes I like original things (so I would buy it). Personally the Prince bags I like most are the Shark blue series.

What's more important for you, form or function?

well both form and function are important to me, but I'm just having a hard time...I actually have the bag at home, along with this babolat bag and also a Yonex 2400 6 pack bag. It's just a matter of picking one and sending the other two back. I have a Prince racquet and I kind of want to stick with a Prince bag, but if I see another brand bag that I really like, I won't hesitate to get it. It's pretty much down to the Babolat bag and Prince. I love the color of the Yonex, but it doesn't seem quite as well made as the other two. I don't like how they did the backpack straps either.
Virgilio-yes I agree with you on the shark bag. It is a good looking bag.

I have the prince 2005 tour 12 pack, and it is only about 3.5-4" wider than the 6 pack. So it is really not that much bigger, plus it has the backpack straps which are cool. It is a great bag.

Does it matter what anyone else thinks? Your buying it for you right? Buy it because you like it, not because you will be seen with it.

Good point, FX, but the OP seems to be having second thoughts on the color as well.
CivicLx, sounds like you've got some decent bags there. I would load 'em up and determine 1) which one holds the stuff I want to carry the best, and 2) which bag is easier to carry around.

the black/yellow prince bag looks ok to me. I would buy it

I dont mind the black and yellow. I prefer more neutral colors though like black/white/grey/silver. http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageBGPRINCE-PO3SBC6.html
I got this bag and like it alot. Function is alot more important then then style though. I bought this mainly for it's size and it's one of the few with backpack straps and removeable shoulder strap. It's pretty lean on the pockets though. The pockets it does have are pretty smartly placed though, the wallet/phone pouch and the water bottle pouch is nice (or maybe 2 cans of balls but I put water in there because it is perfect size and water resistant lining which protects my gear/strings from water/condensation).
The silver/black color isn't bad either, I rather like it but I always liked the metallic silver/grey/black/white color schemes.

That is a nice looking bag! As for the Prince Medallion (black and gold one) I just don't think I could have a bag with those 2 colors...not that I care what anyone thinks about the colors...it's what I think about the colors which is I'd look like a freaking bumble bee  I think I'm going to go with the Babolat...it seems to be good quality and I like that it has 2 separate pockets for the shoes rather than just cramming both shoes into 1 pocket. I'm not big on the simple color scheme but I think I'll be happy with it.

The o3 bag looks okay, but it looks kind of flat -- as if they don't have any side pockets. I like the shark bag a lot... but I can't tell you anything about it first hand (I ordered one recently and should be arriving sometime).
Not really keen on the gold madalion prince bag. I think this color scheme is the best of all prince bags.

I think the Prince black and yellow bag looks sweet.
I have the Technifibre black and red bag myself, but when I saw the black and yellow (which came out after I bought mine) I was almost bummed the Prince wasn't available when I needed one.
But then I decided my black and red bag still looks pretty sweet.
I think black and yellow is in style anyway. I've been seeing plenty of black and yellow tennis stuff. ...or maybe I'm just thinking of yellow tennis balls...haha.

btw my Prince O3 bag is alot shinier then a web picture can show. The silvery area is like this reflective metallic silvery mesh. Looks pretty cool if you like metallic colors. Like I said though, the low amount of pockets is dissapointing but it works. Was a sacrifice I had to make for a bag I liked that was 6 racquet with shoulder and backpack straps. Not many choices when you want a 6 racquet bag with shoulder straps. Overall I am very happy with the bag though and wouldnt consider buying another. The construction is well done with added padding and durability in areas that need it.

the prince bag that POGO suggested is really nice, but I don't think you don't get many pockets with the 6 pack and the 12 pack is probably a little too big. I like the construction of the Medallion but I don't know...maybe I'll just close my eyes and pick one.
Dakels-yeah your bag looks cool...how many exterior pockets does it have altogether? are any of them big enough to fit shoes?

Civiclx: The bag I have has only a wallet/phone pouch near the handle end of the bag and on the reverse side a compartment big enough to fit shoes. I use that for water large water bottle. It's not really an outside compartment though. The pouch uses internal space. This bag is very compact with no bulging out pockets. If you need alot of pockets this bag is not for you. I use it to comfortably hold 4 racquets, 2 cans of balls, roll of tourna, strings, a small towel, extra shirt, socks, and large 1.5 liter bottle of water (and wallet, phone, and keys in small pouch). I think I would still have room for shoes. Its not all in pretty little compartments but it works fine. The middle of the bag is of course split in 2 so I squeeze 4 racquets in 1 side and the other stuff on other side. I bike to my local tennis courts (only about 4 blocks through a park) so weight and balance is important with this bag on my back. Feels great and stable.
Like I said though, only 2 pouches so don't expect much. Its a very efficient bag not much bells and whistles as far as specialized holders. I will add that aesthetically I like it alot and get alot of compliments not that I really care though. The silver pattern is really nice though and not a straight silver finish which could be tacky (its a grey background with reflective silver meshing). If the yellow and black bag has more compartments you need I would get that.

cool...I don't even really NEED a bag...I just want to feel cool  both the Medallion and the Babolat bag seem like they'll work out fine, and since I like the color more on the Babolat, I'll probably just keep that one.
Where are you from?

I like the babolat bag too but no backpack straps :(
Where am I from? Jersey City NJ, couple miles from NYC. Well actually only 1 mile from manhattan where I work. Great courts here in jersey city.

MegacedU-you're kind of weird...j/k
Dakels-I was just in NY for a few days for the US Open...didn't see much at all because we were there just for tennis...we stayed at the sheraton towers if you know where that is...can't wait to go back to NY someday and take in all the sights

Nice Civic
Us locals are allowed to play at the courts at the us open (outer courts). Pretty nice feeling playing on the same courts your tennis hero's play on. Hope you got to see the city a bit. Best city in the world! -my opinion :)

at first I thought you meant they let you play on the courts during the US Open, but you mean when the tournament isn't going on? I read on the USTA website that I guess they pay like 400,000 dollars a year for rent and they can only use the center for something like 60 days...anyway that is really cool that you get to play there...where do you work at? I live in Northern California in kind of a small town. oh yeah and the babolat bag does have backpack straps...they kind of look like shoulder straps, which they can be used as, but there's 2 of them so they can double as backpack straps as well. the prince one is nice too, has backpack straps and also a shoulder strap.

I also prefer the more muted colors. that's why I bought the Wilson Tour 05 in black. Iyt's really well made and I have yet to see a second one on the court!

Does anyone even own the yellow prince 6 bag? If so, how is it, can you fit quite a bit in it?

I don't own it but I've seen one and tried it on. It is very nice, extremely roomy. I'd say you could fit 4 or 5 racquets and still have room for clothing, water, etc. the color actualy looks pretty nice, the pictures just make it look weird.

It is a nice bag, but the huge PRINCE on the side throws it off... Check out the Shark 12 pack:

Three zipper pockets on each side-- very, very nice.

my dad has the shark 6 and I think it's pretty cool, but I think it has a little too much goin on for my taste...I'd definitely go for the 2005 team bag just posted, but unfortunately I don't think the 6 offers many exterior pockets. I may never really even need them, but they're always nice to have...anyway I think I'm going to stick with the Babolat bag I have...thanks for all the replies, and feel free to keep talking about the different bags you like :o

What do you mean by "has a little too much goin"? Do mean its too cluttered?
In all the pictures of the shark 6 it looks like its a little bit on the thin side for a 6 pack bag. Is it a little thin compared to other bags, or is it just the pictuers?
