This "new" board is just not happening.....whatever..... I dunno.

Whatever, thanks for the laughs, the insights and the help. On so many occasions I've had the pleasure of reading posts that were such a mixture of insight and, yes, eloquence (even the Phil vs. Deuce exchanges-smirk!) and this on a tennis chat board no less! I'd think to myself: "man, if I were Bill Gates, I'd fly the lot of 'em to a reunion at San Luis Obispo, and slap a 'HI MY NAME IS____' tag on the lot of 'em! What a blast that would be!"

But pipedreams aside, I'd like to (sincerely) thank those who helped me with technical questions, with equipment advice and with teaching me to look beyond myself and (more importantly) to laugh at myself. And I'd like to thank those who simply were a joy to read. .... So many good people (Camilio, Phil, Deuce, awright, tyte desi, garygranger, stinkdur, ivy, k.wilson, amarone, mikael vitallo, Verbal Kint. I know I'm missing a host of others as well.

Rabbit....I feel like a some Kansas girl sayin' goodbye to a scarecrow..... I'll especially miss you. Those C10's are yours --my Magnolia State friend-- just hollar. ("hoty toddy this! - smile!)

Don, if you ever go back to "the blues" count me in. In the meanwhile, good luck and thanks.

Love and peace. ~~~~Sean

Thanks

NOOOOOOOOOOO! Sean, I was wondering why you weren't posting your witty remarks anymore, I guess you didn't like the new board, but it is getting better, so I hope you'll continue to read the posts sometimes and maybe even feel compelled to post from time to time. I hate that you're leaving the board, friend.

Please don't go - I always enjoy your posts. Well, I enjoy the ones I understand.

The new board is a standard bulletin board type that many of us find easy to use because we are familiar with the style and features from other forums. Please give it long enough to acquire that familiarity yourself.

Sean I also thought I would stop posting but this new board has grown on me and I'm enjoying it for the most part. There are still a couple of things that need to improve like the font size and color and the subscription and check messages feature of the old board. But all in all it seems like TW is really listening to us and making the necessary changes. At the very least check back in soon and maybe new changes will be in effect. If not, all the best to you.

Come back, Sean!!!
I remember the Queen's Bay Opus that must have had some scratching their heads. And your leather bags. I hope you get that sideswipin' forehand fixed. Rabbit once typed something about our favourite multiple retiree that I hope will apply to you---"I give it 2 weeks."
Remember our first e-mails? It was hate at first type! It let me see the passion and I knew you were somebody who LIVES. That response I typed to you was one of the best and hardest to write things I ever did. Your response was one of the most impressive things I ever read. Good times. Good times.
But, I know what you mean, I've been thinking of leaving, too. It's like some kind of mystique has been lost.

Sean--I definately hated the new boards enough to consider leaving at first, and still like the old board better, but Ive gotten more used to it, and like it was said above, TW is trying to be accomodating...So stay, listen to these wise people

If nothing else I need you here to post about WTA plyers with "healthy" booties...

Heh, heh... this may have fooled the others, but I'm onto you, Larry.

Man, haven't you had enough of these 'Goodbyes'? What are we at now, #30? On and on... always retiring and reappearing under a different name... now you're even stealing the screen names of valued members. Have you no shame?

I'm sure you feel real clever in fooling all the people above, but I'll tell you something, pal - I'm n...

Had you going there, huh?

In all seriousness, Sean, I hope you give the new boards a chance. I don't like the new board format, either - but, as others have mentioned, changes are gradually being implemented, which is improving the overall experience. I also feel as Camilio does - that a certain, intangible 'mystique' has been lost. Sort of like moving out of a cozy, comfortable, old house and into a new antiseptic rowhouse that looks the same as the other 100 on either side of yours. But, hey - this is the way it is, and a new character will develop on these new boards over time.

I think we'd all like you to be a part of that new character, Sean, because you're one of the good ones.

Well said, Deuce. I like your houses analogy. And you're right, character will develop.

Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky
little boxes on the hillside
and they all look just the same.

There's a green one
and a pink one
and a blue one
and a yellow one
ANd they're all made out of ticky-tacky
and they all look just the same.

Some of you may recall that I suggested we have a special threatened retirement section on this new board, along with a personal attack section.....you know for all those drama queens among us. Sgt O'Rourke...........you are sounding a bit hallish, ya know. Are you Pmsing, or what? Have you gotten into the Thunderbird again? I really don't understand the virulent disdain for this new format that exists among some of you fine fellows. Have you tried the redice format?......much more TW Board Classic looking. If I didn't know better, I'd conclude y'all are a bunch of stodgy old farts who resist change at all cost. The cast of characters is the same, the stage is somewhat different. Big deal! The change in format hasn't bothered me one iota. Anywho, the bottom line is that you are not allowed to leave, Shawn O'Quirk........this board needs a few good nuts, and you have proven yourself to be a worthy nut. In short, your resignation is not accepted, and you'll just have to deal with that, mister. Consider yourself a conscript.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood,
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Sean,

I obviously haven't been paying much attention to the boards lately myself. If you're still checking in from time to time, please reconsider. You're a good man Charlie Brown!
