If you could have one skill of these pros which would you choose?

I would have Roddicks serve so many cheap points and definately a fear factor

10-08-2005, 01:11 AM
Ivo Karlovic's serve.

Ivo Karlovic's serve.
I agree with that one! Man he's got a serve! Agassi barely got out alive when he played Karlovic in the Open (even though it was a stright set victory). Just goes to show you the importance of holding your serve

Sometimes it looks like he aces at will :D

If he can develop something close to resembling a backcourt game- watch out.

I'd rather have Federer's/ Sampras' serve, having one of those would be more than enough to be able to win all my service games in my level.

10-08-2005, 05:09 AM
If you had a Roddick's serve you could pretty much hold your serve against any player below 7.0

10-08-2005, 05:13 AM
I'll take Sampras's serve. It kicks you back.

I'm not crazy about Roddick's form, but I'd take his serve speed for sure.

Ivo Karlovic's serve.
....me too....

My first choice is Agassi's return since I suck at serve returns and I have a rather hard time breaking. My second choice would probably be tied between Sampras volley and Federer footwork, as I could also use a lot of improvement in these departments as well.

actually I think that the best footwork outhere is Paul-Henri Mathieu's footwork.Absolutly brilliant!!!Look at his feet if you ever get to see him.

10-08-2005, 01:02 PM
federer's footwork is amazing

10-08-2005, 02:56 PM
I honestly don't get why Roddick's serve is put up there and not Sampras's serve.

10-08-2005, 03:24 PM
1. sampras's serve
2. federer's footwork
3. agassi return

Footwork! The key to tennis!

I'd rather have Safin's, Nadal's, or Coria's footwork/movement. Coria's would be really the only one out of the three with 'footwork', but Nadal is as quick as a soccer player, and Safin moves like a gazelle in the words of Brad Gilbert.

Yup. And Federer's over anyone else. As far as the other "movers" on tour, they move side to side extremely well. So does Federer but his ability to move forward equally well is what sets him apart. "All-Court" footwork.

Fed's feet for me, even though I probably need a better serve more...

10-08-2005, 06:51 PM
footwork is everything, in position to hit ne shot and the speed to get ne thing

10-08-2005, 06:56 PM
but Nadal is as quick as a soccer player,.

well his father was a soccer player

mental toughness. I think most of the pros have great strokes but only a small few have the "head game" to put it all together. Just give me some better court sense and toughness during an all-out "cage match" ;) How about the mental toughness of Federer.

10-08-2005, 08:02 PM
Federer's backhand is what I want. ^^

10-09-2005, 03:08 AM
1. Roddick's serve--some free points
2. Nadal's speed
3. Federer/Agassi's forehand

10-09-2005, 11:04 AM
I'd have Sampras' 2nd serve but it wasn't included!!!

federer's footwork, agassi's ballstriking, connors' fight

10-09-2005, 01:56 PM
Can I say Hewitt ????, I just want to be with his new wife...If not I will settle for Blake's girl friend. Who needs tennis with a hot babe like that!!!

Sampras' everything, why hasn't anyone mentioned Sampras' footwork. I mean just check out these links (and be sure to read what's below the clips):

He's got everything, the touch, the serve, and the FOOTWORK!!!
