Any advice? They give me heck of a headache. The ball spins the opposite way.

Most recreational lefty handers have a good forehand cross court. And they quickly learn to spin a serve into the right handers backhand. If the above are true I would:

1. Take away the crosscourt forehand. Play backhand side or middle of court. Right handers are used to playing opponents backhand, and this just opens up the lefty forehand cross court.

2. On the serve, Take a half a step to the left, see if he tries to attack your forehand. If he doesn't move another half a step. Most recreational players have one bread and butter serve, and lefty hand players learn early the that slice serve to the backhand works. If it pulls you wide on the ad side, move up and cut off the angle.

Not knowing you or your opponent or their level makes this a tough question, but these are a couple of simple things to try...Good Luck...
