I was just trying to think of a single event in which there were all the best players I can think of within the same age frame. and the US open 1998 comes to mind.... can't think of a better draw. even Hernan Gumy is there. Krajicek, Ivanisevic, Rosset, Bruguera, Sampras, Agassi..... Rafter of course..... they were all there.
Just click here and scroll down to the round of 128 so you can see all the names:

I'm not sure why you are ripping Kevin's advice... this topic would generate a lot more discussion in the Pro Player area.
As to your question, I'm not sure what you mean. Just about every Slam has a deep draw with big names. Slams that bridge across generations typically have the most... for instance, the 1989 US Open. Here are some examples of great players that were in that one:
Grand Slam Champions:
Boris Becker
Ivan Lendl
John McEnroe
Andre Agassi
Pete Sampras
Jimmy Connors
Stefan Edberg
Yannick Noah
Jim Courier
Andres Gomez
Michael Chang
Michael Stich
Sergi Brugera
Goran Ivanisevic
Johan Kriek
Mats Wilander
Highly Ranked Multiple Pro Title Winners (No Slams):
Aaron Krickstein
Tim Mayotte
Jimmy Arias
Emilio Sanchez
Mal Washington
Mikael Pernfors
Miloslav Mecir
Anders Jarryd
Andre Chesnokov
Future Highly Regarded Coaches:
Brad Gilbert
Paul Annacone
Darren Cahill
Peter Lundgren
