View Full Version : Why doesn't TW carry entry-level, table-top stringing machines?

Just curious, as I see that TW only sells two professional, floor standing, very expensive stringing machines. Are there any plans for TW to start selling entry-level, cheap, table-top machines (in the price range of, e.g., Klippermate, Gamma X-2, ATS SSII, etc.)? I think TW used to carry some table-top machines in the past. Why not any longer? It certainly wouldn't hurt string sales IMHO. :D

We used to offer tabletop machines but no longer carry them. The simple fact is we would not be able to offer a better deal on these machines than already offered by the manufacturer. Unlike other tennis products where manufacturers wholesale, stringing machine manufactures also retail their machines through their own web sites, stores and advertising, which makes it hard for another retailer to be competitive.

Thanks Chris! I figured the reason was something along those lines, as I noticed that some of these manufacturers do indeed sell direct.
