i just found that my groundstrokes are alot more solid than i thought. i rushed the net as poorly as roddick, and my serve was very poor. i think i'm on the verge of switching from snv to the new fad "all courter". uh oh.

It takes time to discover one's style of play. Normally 13 through 16 years of age, one should discover his/her style of play.

If you have good ground strokes (and you have poor success with the serve and volley style), it's better to try "an all court" style. Even for that style to work, you ought to have an effective serve!

well, nothing is really wrong with my serve when it goes in. the return is always short and great for net charging. (note: i've only been in this game for 8 months or so)it's just that my footwork for the finisher is poor. i'd need more work to be able to serve and volley like i wish. but serve and volley worked for me before, i guess i have to adjust my game to whomever i'm playing.

I think you have made a good progress considering the fact you are in this game for about 8 months. In two to three years time, you will be quite proficient in your game provided you keep up the hard work.
