I'm looking to narrow down my choices of a new string.

I'm currently using a Luxilon BB ALU Power 16L / Synthetic gut hybrid and am looking to move towards something a little more playable and an little softer.

Can anyone compare the following strings in terms of the best playability/durability combination:

Gosen OG Sheep Micro 16 versus Gosen OG Jim Courier 16

LaserFibre LaserTour 16 versus LaserFibre Laser Supreme 16

Yonex Tour Super 850 16L versus Yonex Tour Super 850 Pro Spin 16

and any comments on either the Babolat Attraction 16 or the Tecnifibre Spinfire Maxipower 17 strings would be appreciated.

Thanks for any input you can provide.

Of those mentioned, I've only used the Yonex strings. The Tour Super 850 is a little softer, a little more powerful and a little thinner than the 850 Tour Spin. The 850 spin moves around less, is more durable and a little crisper. Both are great multi's for the price. IMO the Tour spin plays particularly nicely in a powerful frame where you want to add control. The Tour Super is a nice playing multi in any frame.

Thanks for the help. I recently playtested the Yonex Nano Speed RQ7 and absolutely loved the racquet as well as the string in it. Unfortunately I only took the time to see that it was a Yonex string...forgot to go back and see which version it was.

Gosen OG Sheep is slightly less durable and not as crisp as the JC. The JC is one of the best synthetics if you are looking for a crisp playing stringbed.

Laser Supreme is more comfortable than the Laser Tour. Be sure to drop it a couple of pounds as it holds tension well and when strung too tightly you will not be able to appreciate the playability it offers. Durability is similar on these strings...slight edge to Tour. IMO the Supreme is the most playable of those you've listed here.

I agree with backcourt on his Yonex comments so ditto on those. The Tour Super 850 is a vastly underrated string. Plays very nicely at a reasonable cost. Better than many of the multis currently on the market.

Good luck!

Agree with JS and backcout on LF and Yonex strings.
To me, LF Supreme is best overall(tension maintenance,
playability,durability). If it's a bit pricy(or I pop them too often)
I go with Yonex. 850 Spin has this uniquely nice, tightly cushioned
feel..
