Or does adding this stuff make the string more durable w/o altering it's softness/stiffness?

It's commonly said that PSGD is stiffer than PSG Original...

"Commonly said", huh? Seems like I've been living in a cave... Btw, thanks!

I think the duraflex is a thin thread of kevlar that makes the string last longer and also makes it stiffer with more pop.

According to this:

http://www.racquetsportsindustry.com/issues/200509/200509stringselector.html

The strings are basically identical, with a stingbed stiffness of within 1%, and a tension loss of within 1%.

I probably didn't espress myself too well...anyhow, when I was searching for a syn gut I happened to make the same question and people in here replied PSGD was stiffer. Also, if you do some research, you will find the same answers all around. I don't know what's the measure for stiff, but I have PSGD now in my racquet and it played great for first 20 hours...turning a little bad now...
