HI,

I have one simple question. Can you play on a clay court when it`s freezing?

I play at a clay court facility in the winter, but we have a dome over it and there is heating.

If it is freezing, you're better off playing ice tennis.

Clay retains a lot moisture, from watering and the atmosphere. When the temp falls below freezing, the moisture in the clay freezes and they become dangerous to be on. In addition, when thawing begins, the court can become very slick in spots and the clay be damaged by all the sliding, requiring extra maintainence. It isn't a good idea to get on the clay when frozen and most clubs won't allow it.

Why would you want to be outside when it's freezing? Nonetheless play tennis...
