Does he play anymore? Becker has played, Johnny Mac of course, Wilander and others from Edberg's era. But Stefan doesn't play. How come?

Does anybody know what he's up to??

I don't know, but I always got the impression that he was a rather private man. Perhaps he was done with the spotlight after he left the tour.

I remember reading an interview where Edberg said that when he retired he needed to get completely away from the game in order to get tennis out of his system. That's understandable. Perhaps he needed to close that chapter of his life in order to start the next one.

He played an exhibition w/Boris Becker at Queen's Club in 2003 and afterwards said that he was considering playing a few senior events at some point.

He also participates in an annual exhibition in Cape Cod during the summer, tennissmash.net I've always wanted to go - you can buy a ticket to play in the Pro Am and play doubles with or against the pros. This year Stefan and Martina Hingis were two of the pros playing.

Edberg has openly said that he no longer wishes to travel anymore. Something like after a lifetime of traveling, he just wants to stay home and spend time with his family

Yeah, that's what I heard - he just doesn't want to travel away from home anymore.

You guys are correct. I saw an interview with him during this years Stockholm Open. He was saying that he is all about the family, and that he only plays tennis for fun these days (two hours a week if I'm not mistaken). He no longer plays much S&V btw, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much he smiled during the interview. Very laid back, down to earth guy. During his career, I always had the impression he was a bit grumpy and negative, but the interview showed a totally different side of him. Edberg of today is like a ray of sunshine :)

I read an interview with Greg Rusedski about Edberg in Tennis Magazine a couple of years ago. In it, Rusedski was practicing with Edberg in London on grass and Edberg was beating him badly. I remember it because Rusedski also said that Edberg was laughing at him the whole time he was beating him. I remember it because it painted an entirely different picture of Edberg than I had of him on court.

Somone else posted a blurb on here a few years ago about a promo Edberg did for Wilson or Adidas, I can't remember which in New England somewhere.
