I've Got a Story

So, there I am at a Seattle airport, in one of the lounges for a prestigious airline. I'm scheduled to meet a client, and in the corner of the lounge, I see Bill Gates. I walk over to him and say

"Mr. Gates, my name is Thomas. I have a meeting at the bar in several minutes with a client; would you please approach me after my client arrives and say 'Hello Thomas'?"

Bill Gates agreed, and ten minutes later in walked my client. We ordered some drinks and began talking business. Shortly thereafter, Bill Gates walks and says

"Hello Thomas"

so I replied

"**** off Gates, I'm in a meeting"




Of course this is really fake.

Let's give credit where credit's due...

That's an old Don Rickles joke - except that he was with a date at a fancy lounge before he was very well known, and the person he asked to go over to him and say 'hello' was Frank Sinatra, who was perhaps the most well known singer in the country at the time.

His response was "Geez - not now, Frank - can't you see that I'm busy?"

Oh... and with Rickles, it really did happen.
