OK....so I'm playing 5-6 days a week these days...BUT...I play 2 of those days at a place where I'm not a huge fan of the program or the coaches. But its the only place I can play those days.
Here's the problem: When I'm at this place, I can't get myself to play well. I can't get in a ryhthm and I mishit way more balls than normal. There are coaches who don't like me very much breathing don't my neck, and I just want to start playing the way I do at other places there. I mishit, I don't step into the ball as much, I don't play as agressive...
Can you guys give me some reccomendations to start playing as my normal self there?
Thanks a lot,
moos.

Is there a lack of work ehtic? Are you uncoachable?
Answer both questions honestly and the answers are "no", stop worrying about what others think. Keep your ears and eyes open to people who's approach you can respect, perhaps via success of previous players passing through under their supervision, but be yourself. Work hard. Work smart. It will come.

When you unconsciously think that others may be watching you and expecting you to do either well or bad, the problem as you mentioned will occur. If possible, while playing just ignore the others or simply laugh them off, and concentrate on hitting the ball well. It's good in a way that you are learning how to cope with adverse surroundings! Playing at different venues, different tournaments, against different opponents, in front of hostile crowd, with different results, will make you a better player. In Davis Cup play one does experience such situations; thus, enjoy whatever situation you find yourself in.

Say to yourself, "screw em" and hit out. Hit out like a son of a gun. Hit hard but in control. Hit out and let it go. If it goes out, hit the next one hard. Make sure you hit hard enough to also maintain your balance but hit it. Maybe send one their way. Miss them of course but send into their vicinity.
There are several people on this board that are jealous as hell and can't stand me. One is supposedly a coach. He hates everytime I post. So I post more. He doesn't like the way I write, the length of my posts, so I post longer.
You know what I say to myself about them? I say "screw em" and I laugh.
I just keep posting and keep irritating the snot out of them. You do the same but when you do, do like I do, put a smile on your face and go for it.

You play your best when you are relaxed. You need to focus, and block out the rest.

I don't know if this is YOUR problem or not, but I read something recently that talked about how it takes everyone a little time to adjust to playing at a different location. Each place has different backgrounds, different sounds, the level of light is probably different, different distractions. Heck, even if both places are hardcourt, the surfaces could be different enough to throw off your timing without you realizing what the problem is. If one is indoor and the other outdoor, the differences are even more exagerated. The article said that your brain will just naturally adjust to the differences after awhile. It said that if you have an important match to play at a strange location, you should try to get in a couple of practice matches there before the important match.
So, if THAT'S your problem, I'd say don't worry about it. Your brain will automatcially adjust, and you'll be hitting clean winners in no time. In the mean time, you might try to set up to the ball a little early, and really concentrate on watching the ball.

BB I am wondering if you wouldnt mind exposing the heretic pathetic poser imposter who proclaims himself a 'coach' but who really isnt. That way, you will be doing a great service to the board, and people will realize this persons' posts are nothing but a bunch of whack and as such, shouldnt be considered.
I know I'm not BB, but I thought I would go ahead and say who the imposter coach was for him. I hope you don't mind? It is the poster who goes by the name "bottle."

im in the same situation: one day i train with a coach i disrespect, he knows nothing about tennis and some others, but i have to be there since i'm the 1st player and team captain.
I play like ****, and the coach underrestamate me. We got **** balls and there's a competitive and hostile war going on. You should like others say: Ignore them, play what you can. Remember, you are there for pratice. Maybe it's a kind of mental training ?:)
If i had the opportunity, i wouldn't show up... do you HAVE to be there? otherwise safe your breath and focuse on the good training.. remember playing tennis is also about having fun.
