View Full Version : Yonex Racquets compared to Head, Wilson, and Prince Racquets

If you look at the inside hoop at the 6 O'clock of Yonex racquets at those rubber things the strings go through there longer than the ones on other racquets like Head, Wilson, and Prince.

Why is this? Does it make a difference or does Yonex just not cut it as short?

I believe what you are referring to are called the grommets..

Yonex apparently has a "Shockless Grommet" system:

"...Strategically placed soft grommets in the throat and the three and nine o'clock positions of the frame absorb vibration, reduce shock, and optimize an easier-on-the-arm feel..."

I don't own a Yonex, so I don't know if this claim is just a gimmick, but this could explain why they are longer.
