Practise with tennis video game?

Does it really work, especially before a match? If so, which game would you recommend?

I personally think it helps, at least mentally. I think it helps with strategy. It can also help with confidence if you start associating yourself with your player. I play Smash Court Tennis.

Play the Makaimedia games like Garagedoor tennis and Battle of the sexes. They have very good ball physics that can help transfer to the court. I do it before some matches to get myself used to seeing the ball.

Maybe to get you pumped up about tennis, but I wouldn't recommend using it too much for strategy mainly because the down the line shots are much more useful than hitting cross court in all the games (you can pull off the cross court rallying to some extent in Topspin). The percentages won't be so kind to you when you're on a real court. BUT... they are a hell of a lot of fun.
