View Full Version : similat to LM prestige MP but with open string pattern?
after selling my pro number ones and playing with my brother's LM prestige MPs for two weeks i realized they are great, i always thought they were more demanding but they play less harsh and have much more power than the fischers. my only concern is the spin, i play on red clay with heavy topspin and although i create a lot of spin i still miss that extra bit. i can't give my weapons like second serve or topspin forhand. i know that the 18/20 pattern makes that prestige feel but isn't there something close? or which sticks should i demo? T10VEMP and C10 didn't work for me. i guess i'll end up with pure control which feels very very stiff. thanks

I play with a LM Pres MP, I would suggest trying the Volkl Tour 10 Gen II MP

I play with a LM Pres MP, I would suggest trying the Volkl Tour 10 Gen II MP my $.02
PK3 - Ditto that, very different in terms of feel, but very similar specs, a bit lighter and a bit more oomph. I played with the LM Prestige for a few years, and still feel its an excellent frame, the transition has been very easy, the little power boost means keeping my serves from landing deep is the biggest adjustment for me. I'd like to say I get lots more spin with the 16x19 G2 but I can't in all honesty. Everybody seems different in this regard.

RDX 500 MP--plays very similar to the LM Prestige, but noticeably more spin... check it out
Based on you're liking of the Prestige, I think you may like the Volkl Gen 2 more than the V-Engine, especially if you're not looking for more power. I play with the Gen 2, played with the V-Engine MP for a little while, and have also hit with the Prestige MP.
I have no problem creating a lot of spin with the Gen 2, but I didn't have that much trouble with the Prestige either. The only way you'll find out is a demo, but I wouldn't expect a big difference. Although, the more open pattern may help your confidence by erasing doubts in your equipment.
nCode 90 Tour, maybe even asain version

Although the specs are similar, to me the volkls all play very differently from a prestige due to their less dense stringbed. MW200g is the closest for me in terms of feel and dense stringbed, HM200g is pretty close, rad midplus might be somewhat close as well, if you aren't limited to current rackets, yonex ti70long plays like a prestige mp but with a touch more pop.
trouble is, and i'm not sure if it is just me, but i feel like the volkls perform great with softer strings but i don't get the right feel with polys. my durability is around 3.5 hours with poly so there isn't really other string option.
