View Full Version : Difference Between Wilson HPS 6.0 and 6.1???

I have been looking at the two rackets and they have exactly the same paintjob.
I have looked at the specs and see that the only difference is that the 6.0 is 7 grams heavier.
So is that the only difference? And which one does Gaudio use?

I have both and can tell you the 6.1 is way stiffer and more powerful than the HPS6.0. My 6.1 is strung about 18lbs tighter than the 6.0 and I still overhit with it. I serve great with the 6.1 but can't keep the ball in the court after that!
Gaudio has 6.1. I don't think any pro ever used the HPS6.0.

I've hit with both and currently use the hps 6.0. The biggest difference is the flex, the 6.0 has a lot more flex around hoop than at the meeting with the neck, where stiffness is calculated I believe. The flex of the racquet is somewhere closer to 62 rather than the 68 sites will say. The 6.0 is a lot more manuverable than the 6.1, but as Finch said you do get more power from the 6.1. And yea, Gaudio uses the classic 6.1 stretch, weighted really, really heavy and close to even balance.

gaudio uses what seems to be a hps 6.1 midplus stretch, but it could be the classic 6.1 midplus stretch w/ hps paintjob.
i think federer used the hps 6.0, or a paintjob of it before the tour 90.

I've seen pics of Federer playing on early 2003 tournaments with a stick that looked like a HPS 6.1.
