Hey, I found a spalding racket in my closet...the string pattern of the frame is 16x17...this is the first time I see such a pattern...anyone ever had a 16x17 string pattern or had ever seen one?

Yeah, had a Wilson Pro Staff with a 16Mx17C pattern after running out of string to finish the racquet.

huh...the spalding stick is 16m x 17c...it's built like that...I find it intriguing...never seen such a thing.

What model is it ?
Its easy enough to lookup the model info for pattern specs ...
16x17 is a strange pattern, maybe a missed cross string ?

Not one...the frame itself looks a bit like the prestige from the handle to the throat...the head seems to be 98 square inches...and the weight is about 11 ounces...maybe more maybe a bit less. And it's 27 inches long...

no, there's not a cross missing...there's very little info on the frame...the only info is the tension which is 50-55lbs, the pattern which is 16m x 17c and that it is a midplus, and there's the word "accomplice" on it.

there's an out of production Yonex model with a 16x17 pattern. It has a super super thin beam and is a metallic brownish color and 28" length. I don't recall the model though.

Fed, was joking around but the Spalding Ellyp-Tech 100 and Orbitech Extreme and XL have 16x17 string patterns.

I might hit with it like next week-end or whenever I play...just to see how it feels...I'll post how it plays if anyone cares...and maybe put some pics of it...

That is the Pro RD-70 in the 95 in^2. version. I have seen pictures of Navratilova using it. I think Natasha Zvereva used it at one time, but I am not sure.

Swan Song, sure its a Yonex Pro RD 70 Long 95' (16x17). Zvereva used it for a time. Hingis & Kournikova also used the 105' version (16x19). I have two, one cut down to 27'. King of spin, maybe spinnier than most other spin meisters like POG or Yonex RD-7, big serve & groundtrokes, adequate power. The 27' one is my favorite with very good maneuveurability, very nice and solid. Better than most modern racquets. Wonder why Yonex does not produce some thin beam, 16x17 patter, 27'. If they do I will be the first to buy.
