im off. its been bad lately. stopped for a month or so and then my calousses went away. came back at the new year and then blisters started to reoccur. i took a week off after that. then my form started to drop. its been up and down lately. i had big expectations for myself this season but then now it isnt looking so good. how do i get back from this slump. right now its not that im horrendously bad im just not where i was expected to be at. i do play as much as i can which is atleast 4 days a week. how do i get back from a slump like this. i realize now im not the freshman that served big and volleyed big but im all around but, not in a great way. i know im not hitting bad but its not satifying. maybe im obsessive. o yeah and also it seems that if i do good in school im doing not so good on the court? thanks in advance.

Hang in there, Freddy. First thing I would do is tell yourself that you WILL figure this out! Just get completely determined to get to the bottom of this and get back to the form that you KNOW you possess. You know you have the raw, physical skills, right? If that's the case, then the rest is just doing the right things to recapture that. I'm sure others on this board can help you out with that. (I'm not so good on the technical stuff. All I know is that I was frustrated a couple months ago in the way I was playing and I got a lot better because I was super-motivated to do so and I had the unshakable belief that I could get a lot better. And sure enough, I did, and I'm now playing better than ever.)

just curious...do you play for a team in high school or college? I took about a month off and my callous on my thumb went down...it never bothered me because it was calloused...but since it went down and I just started playing again, I too have an irritating blister that's not much fun.
Anyway, not sure what level you play at, but I think taking even just a month off would affect anybody, and I'm sure once you get back to just doing your routine, your game will start to come back. I mean, if you were say a 4.0 before, you may be a bit rusty but I'm sure you'll get back there.
good luck with your season
