this is my first time stringing this racket and when doing the crosses i counted over to the 8h instead of the 9h for the knot and then pulled the first cross through the 9h instead of the 8h. so now the first cross is at a slant. is this a big problem? should i cut it out or do u think its ok to have it like this for a while?

I say cut it out, it's not good for your racquet and it'll bug you mentally to have it mishapen like that.

do u think it will do much harm to play for a couple of hours, 4-5hrs?

Probably not ... but who knows ... if it were me I wouldn't have missed the skip at 8H8T =P

If this was at the throat I'd say leave it because that's the strongest part of the frame, but since it's at the head I'd cut it out. There's an easy way to catch this kind of error and misweaves before it's too late. Before tieing off your last cross take a hard look at all of the strings and the stagger pattern from top to bottom and across the stringbed. Once you're sure everything is o.k. then tie off. If you've made a mikstake you can pull the strings out and reweave them.

Belafonte,

If it were me, I'd error on the side of caution and cut the String out.
