View Full Version : Polyurethane = Polyester?

Are the Babolat Attraction strings a multifilament of nylon or are they are polyester multifilament? I'm just confused. Please help to cure my ignorance on this one. Thanks.

Not sure about this specific string, but polyurethane is not the same as polyester. Polyurethane is used as a filler to literally glue the hundreds of tiny filaments together in a multifilament string and to provide an outside coating for the string bundle. It is not part of the filaments themselves, which are made of nylon in this case. Polyester is a different material and is mostly being used in monofilament strings commonly called poly strings.
Having said that you'll find all kinds of combinations of materials in strings these days.
