wonder if it was a good decision for her to participate in the AO, perhaps she overcompensated for her other (hip) injuries and her legs gave up on her on that sticky surface for one short moment and ...

Very unfortunate indeed. This is only added incentive for her to retire early :(

Guess that means i won't be seeing her at indian wells. probably won't play miami either, bummer. At least she didn't do it playing racquetball!

Yeah, her hip seems to have caused further issues with her back, thighs and possibly ankle now, as a result of her pushing herself in this tourney.

I don't feel sorry for her and nore should any of you, I like Kim and think that she could take all titles this year if healthy.

The thing is she new she shouldn't have been playing in the AO and now half her season will be gone as a result.

She has millions to spend on the best trainers pre-hab and re-hab specialist along with deep tissue specialist like Maria got and had come to the AO with her

She was and is being irrasponsible and this is the price

Totally agree with the racketball zinger at AA - that was insane.

I do think that she should have reconsidered playing in the AO. I was looking forward to seeing her play this year, and now most of it has to be recovering from her injuries.

Out for at least 2 months. tsn.ca. Quit tennis, get married, have babies. That's what she would like to do. GO KIM

Too bad for Kim. I hope she recovers in time for the next Grand Slam, the French Open in May.

I hope she recovers FULLY before playing anything. I sprained my ankle horribly last year and sought the proper treatment and rehab before attempting anything. Definitely worked out fine in getting my ankle back as close to its old form.

What a pity, such a great gal. Well, she won a major, earned a fortune, off to other exciting things!

Geez, I didn't think it looked to bad initially--she barely winced. I didn't notice much swelling--nothing like Tommy Haas and Wimbledon. On the other hand, I couldn't believe they put her in a "virtual cast" before she went back on the court to try and compete at that level.

Man, she is one tough cookie!

you might want to report on your experience in the Health forum, others might appreciate it. detail your rehab, if possible.

That's really too bad. She didn't look very happy out there her last two matches. I think you're probably quite right, Marius; very likely she was overcompensating for her other injuries -- her groundies were certainly not what they are normally.

jackson vile, that's a bit harsh! Where's your compassion, man?
