View Full Version : Question on clamps
What is the difference between single and double action clamps? I just bought a Gamma X6 FC and am very happy with the (fixed) clamps. Are they single action? I don't remember this being an option with the Gamma stringers.

leog, the clamp base and clamping jaws lock at the same time on single action clamps. There is only 1 locking lever on these. Double action clamps have one lever to lock the base and another one to lock the string clamp. The singles usually are attached to glide bars. The doubles usually travel in a groove in the turntable base. The singles actually use the drawback that occurs when the tension head is released from the string to lock it to the bar. There is one less step required to lock the singles, but there can be move drawback with these.
